All of our services are subject to our confidentiality policy. This means we will not normally give out information about you to anyone outside the project, without your agreement. This includes not telling anything to your parents or guardians, the police, social workers or anyone else. There may however be times when we will need to share information within The Market Place.
The only time we would give out information about you without your agreement is if you, or anyone else, are in serious danger or at risk of harm. We would always try to discuss it with you before giving out any information.
If you are not sure about any of this or would like to know more about it please ask one of the workers.
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT
To make an appointment for counselling or other one to one support you need to book an ‘Intro session’.
We offer a limited number of Intro Sessions which are released every two weeks. We advise you to contact us to find out when these are available as they are on a first come first served basis. You can contact us either by phone or by coming into our Drop-In.
What is an Intro session?
An ‘Intro Session’ is your opportunity to come and find out about our services and tell us what support you feel you need. It’s your chance to check out The Market Place and ask any questions. The intro session lasts for about 40 minutes and takes place in a private room with just you and a worker. We can then help you decide what support might be right for you. All Market Place services are free and confidential.
The Market Place offers a range of Youth Work support through our Drop-In, My Plan and Group work sessions.
Our counselling team are here to give you the time and space to explore any issues that may be bothering you.
Peer support through group work is another key service of The Market Place and we offer a number of groups for young people.
We offer three main sexual health services; condoms and c-card, pregnancy testing and sexual health testing (Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea).
There are lots of other organisations and charities locally and nationally who offer services for Young People that you may find helpful.
